Care to elaborate “ghetto rigging”? Do you mean like when I had a Dell 410, decided to “upgrade” the CPU to a Q9600, then to reduce temps on that poorly designed for airflow case, used a hole saw to cut an opening into the solid metal removable side. Then also drill mounting holes to externally mount a 140mm 3000 RPM, high CFM, PWM, main intake fan from another 410, installing a metal fan cage for safety and using a 3 way switch to control the speed? I called it the “finger chopper”. Because those fans have really tough plastic blades and they sound super scary at full tilt. I do believe one could lose fingers without that cage!
