Fatality 990fx killer or Fatal1ty 990fx professional?

What are the differences and which one should I get?

Fatality Professional: 12+2 powerphase digi vrm. alc-892 audio codec. Broadcom gigabit lan.

Fatality killer: 8+2 powerphase digi vrm. alc-1150 audio codec, Killer E2200 lan chip. M2-Sata slot. and shielded audio.

Which one to go with is a bit depending, on your needs.

The Fatality killer is a newer board that leans more towards gamers, its a nice midrange, with some nice feutures like the M2-sata slot.

The Fatality pro is an older board, But it is Asrocks highend series. the 12+2 powerphase design, is designed for overclockers in particular. same as the Extreme 9

How about the 990fx killer and the crosshair v formula-z. I know its more money but is it worth me spending more on it?

I have the formula-z and it's a stellar board, I'm not sure on all the specifics, but it's at the same scale as the low end 1150 ROG board

Thanks, what about the Asus M5A99FX PRO R2.0 and the Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3?

Its hard to say its depending on what your needs are. the Fatality killer is a midrange board, and the Asus crosshair V Formula Z, is highend top of the line.

if you are an ethusiast overclocker then it could be worth it, to look for the crosshair or the Fatality pro. If you wanne overclock the hell out of your cpu.

But if you more into gaming, and less an overclocker, then the 990FX killer is not a bad choice. Offcourse you could do some basic overclockings on it aswell.

The Asrock fatality killer, Asus M5A99FX pro R2.0, Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3 R4.0. Are all abit on the same midrange level. on which the Killer has a littlebit more feutures to offer towards gamers.

Ok thanks, I just wanted to be sure Im choosing the right motherboard for my first build.

I have had my eye on the AsRock Fatal1ty 990FX Killer. Coupled with an AMD 8350 it should make a decent gaming rig, I guess :)

What kind of memory would be good to use in the AsRock motherboard?

Could this be a valid option: http://www.uk.insight.com/en-gb/productinfo/computer-memory/0002947240

PS: Sorry for hijacking the thread, with my question :)

Basicly any DDR3 memory would be fine, 1866mhz CL9 ram is allways the sweet spot. i would personaly look for some black dimm´s. like G.skill Sniper. But thats personal, the ram you listed is offcourse fine too

Here are 3 nice ram options, its a bit depending on what cpu cooling solution you have, if you have an big aftermarket aircooler, then i would recommend somethinh like the G.skill sniper

Thanks again for the reply :)

I think I will go for the Corsair Vengeance

The cooling fins on the top of the RAM modules will be right in the line of fire of the case fans, taking in air from outside the case. Also they should clear the CPU fan :)
