I just got an AsRack 1U4L4E-GENOA/2T and put a EPYC 9654 in it. I run 24/7 math calculations so want to see if I can get the machine quieter. It lives in my garage. Fan configuration in BMC looks complicated. Has anyone done changes to this stuff to reduce noise? What did you try?
I see I can also limit power.
It’s getting colder now in the PNW so machine will likely run quieter as temps drop.
If you are not going to make use of any backplanes, you can pull the main board out and put it in a normal PC case;
It looks like it should go in any case that takes an extended atx motherboard (you need deepness.
You will then need to either use that server power supply, which may not route properly, or get a new power supply. You will definitely need a new heatsink for the CPU.
