External Graphics on Lenovo Y500?

So I have this lenovo Y500 laptop with its multi-function CD drive bay (probably has a name, but can't think of it right now) that can accept a second GT650m graphics card that would run in SLI with the internal one. I was wondering if there was a way to adapt the connector on the inside to something that would be able to accept a normal desktop graphics card. I know some adapters exist in order to convert the mini PCI slots that are normally used for networking cards into something a graphics card can use (with external power of course). Is some sort of adapter possible to make if I know the pinout of the connector? Any advice or resources to look at would be helpful.

there has been an adapter available. But it seemingly sold out for now.

Thanks for providing insight Swung0x48 .
