EVGA 970 gtx won't POST

Ok I know it's some sort of uefi bios issue. But how can I boot/post with this card on uefi motherboards? I've tested my card on an older AMD motherboard it it works (MSI 790fx-gd70).

My setup:

CPU: i7 3930k
Motherboard: Asus P9X79-E WS (latest bios 1602)
RAM: G.Skill 1600mhz 9-9-9-24-T2
SSD: Samsung 850 Evo 250gb
PSU: EVGA Supernova G2 750W

My older card works on the motherboard an AMD 5850, boots no problem. On using the 970, I get pass the cpu/ram check, but it get blue Diode on the "DIAG_VGA" with the error code 62.

Any help is needed.

Try a different pcie slot.

did already.

She is dead. If you can check on a friend's MB or your work mb, but most likely it is RMA time.

  • Enable CSM in the UEFI.

Apart from that I would hazard a guess that it is a fault with the motherboard. Perhaps its worth contacting Asus.

it's enabled by default. there's other options do u have any idea what I should put them as?

umm a 5850 was put in there almost all my pcie still works. Just it's the 970 not being detected by my motherboard.

There was a bios update for the p9x79 ws-e board. I should try it again sometime. Now 980s & 970s should work now.
