EPYC Proxmox Server Build Compatibility

Greetings! I’ve done a fair bit of research, but I have not come across the specific build I’m considering (which means I’m either blazing a new trail or I’m on the road to perdition - or both). I’ll present it here, then if you’re kind enough to stick around I’ll ask a few questions. Many thanks in advance!

Component Selection
Motherboard Supermicro H12DSi-NT6
Processors (2) AMD EPYC 7532
Memory (256 GB) Hynix HMAA8GR7CJR4N-XN
Graphics (22 GB) NVIDIA RTX 2080Ti

Questions:

  1. Is a 1000w PSU enough if most storage will be in a separate NAS, or should I go to 1200w or even higher?
  2. Has anyone successfully configured the RTX 2080Ti for vGPU passthrough on the H12DSi series?
  3. I’m considering a Fractal Design Meshify 2 XL for the case. Do you have any suggestions? I don’t have a server rack.

Electrons generally don’t care how you mount stuff. Water molecules however…

Anyway, if you don’t have a lot of storage, that 1000W PSU should be fine. Can’t tell you about ProxMox pass-through as I don’t use it. My EPYC systems are (mostly) H11 based :man_mage:

PS: welcome to the L1T forums :hugs:

Thanks for the welcome, and I appreciate confirming the PSU!
