Enhanced Gaming

Hi guys,

I'm trying to get a kickstarter going. I have a solid prototype up and running. My device will bring gaming to a new level I believe as it will create a real time experience in a game specific manner.
My device straps to your upper thighs and can increase blood flow and heart rate.
My aim is to sync the device with games such as GTA, Diablo, COD, NFS as examples. For instance, when playing COD if you walking or creeping your heart rate will stay low/resting, when you run and are in a tricky situation your heart rate will increase and you will even start to sweat and get short of breath. This will make the game more challenging and bring a real life experience.

Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Dr. Walsh

Is this safe or does it come with a warning for those with possible heart conditions and how will it effect people with asthma.

I like the idea though.

Edit: other questions. Would the implementation be proprietary or.open source. And would there be licencing?

The risk is the same as going for a run/cycle on a bike. So if this is something you should not be doing (you have a heart condition, asthma etc) then the device would not be suitable but for everyone else it is perfectly safe.

Thanks,
Dr Walsh

It would be open source. And no licensing

You're either a troll or a child. I refuse to believe that an actual doctor would think that this is a good idea. You want to make people physically tired while they're playing video games? Even if we ignore the obvious, which is that it's a stupid idea and no one would want to use such a device, and if we accept the idea that you could make such an awful device, you'd still have to go through years of testing just to get this approved because of the potential health risk involved. Just think about what you're saying for a second. You want a device capable of inducing higher blood flow and heart rate in people that are sitting down. You can't possibly be a doctor. And this is just the tip of the iceberg. Just what I could think of in less than a minute.

Simply put, it's not going to happen.

Some things... first, I think you're being a little harsh here. I already have a device that induces higher blood flow and heart rate when I'm sitting down. It's cigarettes. They also work when standing up, but the point being that, most things are (relatively) safe in moderation.

Second, years of testing likely wouldn't apply. This isn't a medical device, it's an electronic one, which means that, in the US at least, the FDA really has no business being anywhere near it before it has come to market.

Third, I think you're absolutely correct otherwise.

Can you be any clearer as to the specific method of action here? The only concept coming to mind is a tourniquet.
