ECS has a new form factor of mini-itx called thin. It’s 170x170mm and runs off a laptop AC adapter (19.2v). Sounds interesting. I would love to see one on the channel or a build someone is making with it.
Thin mini ITX has been around for a while, spec from Intel came out in 2012.
Issues I’ve seen are that often they have fairly basic VRM designs and spartan I/O, so I wouldn’t expect anything special out of them. Thin mini ITX boards are really best suited for AIO computers and the like. They are nice in their thin aspect, but if size is that much of an issue I think STX is a better form factor.
You could just go ITX + picoPSU as well. That can make for a pretty nifty little machine also.
It’s actually going to have a 19v laptop looking adapter. I’m not sure what that limits your CPU/GPU choices to. But that’s the appeal of this board, I guess. You could basically build it on the back of a sweet monitor and use for LAN party. My current tower is on the 50+ lbs. That and monitor isn’t portable
