Dynamic disks vs Storage Pools with multiple USB docks and enclosures? Which is better

I have a few extra usb 3.0 drive docks, enclosures and drives, but don’t want to have too many drive letters. Which would be more tolerant to disconnects and reconnects, the old style dynamic spanned discs or windows 10’s newer storage pool system. I mean if I turn on a dock a bit after the other or it has to be reconnected, which one would figure itself back out and which would just become corrupted.

And would choosing a striping solution affect this issue.

I do have many drives, windows running out of letters is easier than I imagined. Just the flash card reader takes up 4 after all.

You don’t have to use a drive letter, mount in a directory.

Yes, I’ve considered this, but some of the smaller drives would be more practical combined.

Never mind, was fooled by storage spaces letting you go up to the second to last step with usb drives before spitting out an error. Turns out you can’t use spanning using the usual dynamic disks or storage spaces, windows doesn’t allow with removable drives unless you some how trick it.

Looking for a different solution I guess.
