Working on a SNES PC build(Not important) The DVI on my specific board doesn't carry audio so I need help locating the pins that would carry audio so I can substitute with a 3.5 audio jack and plug it directly to the on board audio, I'll only really need the left and right channels and ground is easy.
That won't work (assuming I understand what you are trying to do). The 3.5mm is an analog signal, where as the HDMI is digital. You can't just splice in a cable and have it transmit audio.
Damn, I guess that only makes sense. I've done this kind of thing with other electronics like bluetooth radios and an Xbox controller back when I was big into consoles (dark times)
Yeah, but this is meant for a console replacement, I guess you can call it, where I'd be taking it on travel so keeping it to just hdmi would be most preferred because theres no telling if the 'most common use place' hotel tv has say RCA or any audio inputs other than video input specific ones
I see what you mean. Perhaps I can fins a small cheap one that I can fit into the snes
It's only 3.5 "x 1" x 2.7" (and you could probably remove it from the case without much issue, and have it be smaller). You might be able to fit it in there somewhere. Maybe mounted to the top of the "case" in the back?
