Oh, right, more variation. DP alt mode is essentially a passive converter. Older display link creates the signal, then you rely on driver level software cooperation with display driver to avoid incompatabillities. MST… I don’t recall, but I want to say it’s similar to thunderbolt, just not thunderbolt.
