Does ryzen have issues with quadro

So at my work I need a pc for SolidWorks and FEA. We saw the prices of Dell work stations. I decided to put a list together to save some money while increasing performance. The build is ryzen 1600 and a quadro p1000 based. Our It guys say to go Intel due there being issues. Is this true, I can’t find evidence to prove they are correct.

AMD and Nvidia both build according to PCIe spec.

Another good example would be the high density GPU servers from Supermicro, powered by dual Epyc CPUs.

He sound alike he has his biases and just wants Intel.

Meh see how much of a fight he puts up. I have heard of no issues at all between them and there certainly no technical or legal dispute reason for there to be any compatibility or stability problems. Nvidia went so far as to poke fun at AMD by saying their nVidia GPUs would work great on AMD CPUs because people are going to buy their more powerful GPUs and AMDs zen systems.

Out of interest I would like to ask him about what systems he has built and what went into them.

And I’m just sitting here and going to be the asshole that says “if you want a machine for a business, don’t build yourself”.

Seriously, yes you pay more for a system from any system builder, but what you pay for is not for the hardware, but for the support.

That what I was thinking. The only issue I saw was raven ridge apus had issues when it came out, but I’m not using an apu.

Hahaha I remember that now. I was going to ask but I wanted to make sure that I had my facts correct.

Our support agreement covers system support. With the way our company keeps computers it’ll be nice just to throw a new cpu and gpu in as needed rather than buying a new machine every couple of years

Hahahah That’s not the case, recently one of my friend bought Workstation for Rendering and some simulation tasks with AMD Ryzen 2700X and Quadro P4000 from Ant PC best part system integrator suggested that solution so we could safely assume if brands are suggesting then why to worry.

Also, many other system integrators also suggets so we can assusme AMD and Quadro are good combo plus again if Dell is providing why to afraid? Dell do hardcore testing lately.

Agreed with your point… better opt for system integrators or OEM like Dell or HP than building yourself for reliability and better support.

Just checked Dell, HP and Lenovo. No Epyc option available.

Gigabyte and Supermicro got some selection. Apart from that, not much.
