Do you get wet?

I want to know how many RTW brothers and sisters out there watercool their rigs.  Post back pisctures of ur w/c rig with cpu type and idle and load temps.  I'll get this thread started.  I have a Q6600 at 3.2ghz with idle temsps of 33/30/28/28 snd load temps of 44/44/42/42A.  Here is a blurry image of many of the parts used in my loop.                                  The watercooling installed!                  My beautiful res

Nice rig man! :D I Don't watercool myself, as I don't really see the need, and I'm not a money-guy :P

Hey, do you have your monitor on your floor ? 0_o I had it like that once, my back was totally broken after one day.

It's good to have such "community" threads here, keeps the place runnin' ya'no?

Yeah our rtw community has grown small lately and i just wanted to make a thread that everyone in the community who shared any interest in watercooling could come and post/brag/ask questions. Â Yeah my monitor is on the floor because i like ot watch TV and play CS:S at the same time..u know keep in touch with the world whilst getting a hattrick in or too. Â Anyways, i just recently made the switch to water myself but am loving it (not ot say that i didn't have a minor hiccup on the path to greater cooling enlightment)...Oh young padawan so much knowledge on the enlightemetns of watercooling are to be had here.

I might do a watercooling setup someday, probably when my q6600 starts to fall behind and i overclock it. the cool thing about them is you can pretty much re-use almost all the parts in future builds.

@ Div: Â Yeah, the reusability (did I just make up a word) of the w/c parts really attracted me to watercooling. Â It padded the pain of spending a couple hundred on just cooling alone. Â But alas, fine temps were had.

Dont have WC, dont need it and dont have the money for it.

cool
i might do it 2 my e5200 try get up 2 4ghz

@soad666p: Cool man...if you are really interested in w/c then I would build a custom loop as they almost always yield the best temperatures. Also, I'd stray away from any pre-built kits...especially ones from thermaltake or coolit (I speak from experience). One place that does have good w/c kits assembled from quality parts is Petra's TechShop. Here's a link if you are interested http://www.petrastechshop.com/wacoki.html. And if you do decide to watercool, then make sure that you get at least a 240 radiator because a 120 radiator just won't give temperatures that are better than air cooling.

Been liquid cooled since 2003 or so. Currently using a Koolance 350AC waterblock on my core i7, a swiftech pump...I forget the model, but it's a 320GPH pump. Koolance waterblock on my GTX 295, Danger Den external reservoir, 1/2" tubing, 3x120mm radiator with 115CFM fans. My rig at work, since it's not financed by me, has a slightly more extravagant set up.
Swiftech Apogee GTX waterblock on a core i7 975, Koolance RAM35 waterblocks...which barely fit...on 12gb of OCZ Reaper RAM. I was using a Koolance block for the NB/SB on my old ASUS WS Revolution mobo, but used that board to replace the old 790i in my home rig. I'm now using the EVGA X58 hydrocopper edition with the built in waterblock for the NB/SB. I was also using Koolance HD60 waterblocks for the VelociRaptor RAID array, but those went to my home rig with my MoBo when I upgraded to SSD's along with the new board.

The cooling system for the work computer is all external in a rackmount unit with dual 380GPH pumps, two 360mm radiators and I wanna say a 500mm reservoir, might be 400. All 1/2" tubing, PrimoChill ICE coolant. Next time I'm at work, I'll snap a couple pictures of the sexy.

Uhh, the temps on my home computer are currently: 34/31/29/29, with firefox and foobar open and playing, and ProTools 8 running on the other screen. GTX295 is idling at about 36C. Temp gets up around 39 during marathon sessions of Half Life 2, about 41 to 43 when playing CoD4. Sorry guys, those are about the most graphic intensive games I run anymore, lol. Lame, I know. Under load, the CPU gets up about 39, usually not much higher.

At work, however, CPU idles at about 25C, and creeps up toward 30, even under a few hours of moderate load. RAM runs at a pretty constant and chilly 19C, NB/SB don't get any hotter than the CPU does.

That's a pretty sweet looking set up you got there, AKIMbO. Is that a swiftech pump? Using a controller?

I'll get you some pics of my set ups in the next day or two, no work till Monday.

@TheSickKnowsNoPain: Thanks...yeah, that's a Swiftech MCP655. The pump is a little overkill for my CPU only loop but it leaves me room for future upgrades. The waterblock is a Heatkiller Rev. 3.0 and the rad is a XSPC RX 360. The rad barely fits in my Cosmos S...I mean it clears the RAM by approximately 2mm. The radiator has a push/pull setup using 6 medium speed Yate Loons. My tubing lengths are a little long...I made them like that so that I could fully take the pump out of the case in order to drain the loop when that time comes. I'm running Feser One UV Blue coolant. What kind of coolant are you using in your home rig? I can't wait to see these pics of your work rig...and your home rig too...they both sound sick.Â

dude
alix whats with the title LOL

the blue and red look sick in the cosmos

nice focus on the first pic =p

@Pathogen: Â Lol...do you like it...i wanted something that would catch people's attention. Â Thanks for the nice comments. Â Pretty soon I will be adding a 12 inch UV Cathode into the mix and hopefully this will get the UV reactive coolant to pop. Â Yeah, the first pic sucks. Â Here's a different pic of the components I used in my loop (minus the reservoir). Â

do i get wet?

no

@Rice: Sweet man...is that a D-Tek Fuzion v2 I see? What cpu are you cooling and what temps are you getting? I would love to see more pics of the w/c rig.

You are correct, my good man. Just a Q6600 at 3.0, nothing major. It's been at 3.0 for over a year and a half now, not going to push it any further.

Temps are about the same as yours, but my room is ultra hot so it's getting higher.

I'll post some more pictures when I get the chance.

I dont really have any need to have water cooling in my rig ae, it just doesnt get hot enough where i live!

I have a 20 inch fan blowing into my peace of shit hp case i ripped apart. And put all new parts in . Yay for the amd athlon x2 5000+ BE @ 3.0GHZ need to get a new case thinking about getting a full tower next week now that the bills are caught up. Any sugestions ?wanting black with red leds. Sorry not trying to hi jack thread ?? if i posed pics of my pc u guys be laughing for days but it plays everything :)

@thompsonk: For a good full tower case with red led's I would get a Coolermaster Cosmos S or a HAF 932. Both of those cases are great watercooling and aircooling cases and can both fit 360 radiators in the top should you so choose to go the watercooling route in the future. I personally have a Cosmos S and love it.../threadhijack

@Rice: Can't wait for the pics. Are you using the distributor plate with that D-Tek? I'm curious if those distributor plates really make a difference in overall temperatures with quads. Any how, I feel your pain with the hot ambients...I live in S. Florida so my ambients are extremely high as well.

Lol pipes everywhere. It looks like six flags, only it can whoop Crysis.
