If I “sideload” an after-market air filter in my car, should my engine stop working because the air filter is not “authorized”?

had to blow away my linux install to get my older linux onto my potatoe laptop after multiple occurances of having the ventoy install try to have both linux versions live in harmony.
finally get Checkra!n installed… the gui doesn’t work due to my potatoe laptop screen rez… got the terminal version to work… i’m rockin, DNF mode… here we go… got an error during the heap load… now my ipad I think is bricked.
oh well.

I’m a dummy… I had only to try a little more. Hard Reboot (hold both the top and home buttons at the same time for a while until the apple logo appears.)
so she’s weak… but alive again.
I’ll try checkra!n again tomorrow. This little ipad doesn’t have a big drive (32gb… 20gb free) so maybe ran out of space? I’ll try again tomorrow and see if I can’t catch an error code.
