Do I alwyas need to update BIOS with a new motherboard and CPU?

-MSI MPG X570 GAMING PLUS Motherboard (AMD AM4, PCIe 4.0, DDR4, SATA 6Gb/s, M.2, USB 3.2 Gen 2, HDMI, ATX)
-AMD Ryzen 5 3600 6-Core, 12-Thread Unlocked Desktop Processor
So I ordered these parts for my gaming PC. This is my first time assembling a computer, I want to make sure I don’t mess anything up or damage the board in some way. Do I need to update the BIOS on the board first or can I add the CPU and update it after turning the computer on? Or will that mess everything up?

There is no problem with adding the CPU first. Worst case, it will just not work, and that should only happen if the CPU is a newer than the motherboard’s UEFI. In that case is when you need to flash the bios before the CPU will work in that board, for instance if you had an x470 board instead of an x570 board.
