So I have a fresh install of Fedora 27 and DNF is being super slow when I attempt to update it or when I install software. It takes around 5-10minutes to install software or update and I’m not sure why. I’ve edited my dnf.conf to include the line fastestmirror=true , but that didn’t seem to make a difference. Does anyone else have any ideas for what else I could do to increase DNF’s speed?
Well do you live in the US and do you have a decent internet connection? If you don’t then you could just be SOL.
Check to see where your closest update server actually is and figure out what your latency to that server is.
Also, make super sure that you changed the dnf.conf file correctly. Your issue could be something as simple as a typo.
