I recently purchased a dp - hdmi cable and for some reason it does not seem to work, like it displays the boot logo then it returns a no signal input on the screen.

There might be different issues. A few here:

  • Bootlogo shows, but screen switches off. Your OS might try to display something with an improper mode, the display can’t handle. Depending on the OS, try to boot into save mode / with svga display drivers only. See if it boots, change settings / reinstall graphic driver.
  • Cable compatibility problem. Some of these cables are really cheap and not up to spec. Especially Display-Port connection can be a finicky beast at 4K. I would simply try another cable or adapter.
