Hi, I just got this KVM here: 1.4 Display Port KVM Switch - Dual Monitor - Two Computer — Level 1 Techs

I can’t seem to get a display to show up with the monitor set to display port mode 1.4 (or 1.2). But if I set it to 1.1, it works. However my 5k is only at 30hz (The bios screen for my pc always shows up however).

I have ordered some shorter cables but, could it be anything else? I tried a few shorter ones (Where the total run was only 6`), but that doesn’t seem to make any difference.

When the monitor is on 1.1 everything ‘works’ (switching between an m1 mac, and a desktop pc), but everything is super laggy at 30hz.

Ok after much troubleshooting, this is definitely a cable problem. I did eventually get my pc at 5k60hz by using a magic combination of cables, both are branded Cable Matters, the one that was generic was the problem.
