Discord thoughts?

So I have been introduced to Discord as a replacement for Skype and Teamspeak and other things of that nature and so far it is pretty awesome. have any of you run into this? what are your thoughts? https://discordapp.com/

Personally love it. Better voice quality than Skype, Curse Voice, Raidcall and about anything else I've used to the point that going back to curse recently actually sucked for audio, super easy to set up and use, free server hosting (like Raidcall but with a choice of regions), they have active twitter support that I used once several months ago and found pretty good/helpful.

They seem to be improving stuff all the time and the twitch integration for partnered accounts seems useful, though not something I make use of myself. There was a similar thread on here not that long ago and I saw concerns mentioned about their privacy policy or similar, and I guess as the saying goes something something free then you're the product..

Though personally I'm not concerned about that considering its basically outright better than other free voip solutions, especially given the relatively recent raidcall update that seems to be trying to integrate some kind of Russian social network..

I've been using this for about a month now with my co-workers and it works really well.

It's relatively light too run and its voice communication is very high quality while not using tons of bandwidth.

My favorite feature is being able to mute/adjust the volume of individual users client side

I believe Discord was based off of Slack.
But they made it more oriented for gamers. Both are amazing.

I think it's really awesome personally, so light and easy to use, and Linux support is on it's way, which'll be amazing when it comes out

is this compatible with Skype or any others? Just wondering. No one around here uses it, and are too sheltered to move away from skype
