here are the details : Tailscale: How it works
Hi everyone!
This is my first time participating in Devember. I’ve been running my own homelab for several years now, mostly to experiment, learn new things, and improve my skills as an IT teacher.
For this Devember, I want to take things a little further by bringing part of my homelab into the cloud. Nothing too ambitious, but hopefully a fun project with plenty of opportunities to learn along the way!
I have massively grown my homelab in the past 12 months. From 2x TrueNas 2U servers, a 16TB DS420+, 3x ZimaOS servers running everything from dual PiHole config, Gluetun, HomeAssistant, MakeMKV, Plex, etc. The only thing I have wanted to do and have not yet if I am being honest is configuring the around 90 WiZ lights and sensors I have setup to stop reaching the WAN and still work over the standard Android app. I have a fully Unifi edge so WifiMan works great for remoting in. I will use my own AI machine I built to do any LLM work on this project as needed as well. I also have 2 git projects I have done. 1 still underway, and one could surely use a few updates. I will put this all together for this Devember challenge. Thanks for the push to get some things done, Wendell!
My goal for Devember is learn and apply as much as I can about the supporting infrastructure, Opnsense and Netbird to make my homelab run as efficiently and securely as possible.
I’ll also be trying to unbrick a long disused openwrt tp-link wifi ap.
I’m calling my project Home Network Routmaxxing
Devember is spent learning proxmox, expanding my self hosting setup, and finding new fun things to self host… expanded my storage with a unas 4 pro and way to expensive spinning rust to make some room for when i get to rip all my music and movies.
