Destination Linux Network Charity Event

I am not affiliated with this event.

I was not asked to help collect money for this event.

The Destination Linux Network is partnering with Free Geek to bridge the digital divide. From community education to legit computer courses, they’re asking for financial donations or computer hardware.

Previous year stats:

We were able to provide 1,288 computers to those in need of digital access, awarded $130,270 in hardware grants to schools and nonprofits, recycled over 1 million pounds of electronic waste and provided 380 community classes, facilitating 4,821 total learning hours.

Every little bit helps, and this goes towards furthering Linux and FOSS.

This is definitely pin-worthy.

Linus did a vlog helping their Vancouver branch out:

Pretty interesting event…

I was GPU tester for the Vancouver Branch for a time. It was just too taxing in terms of transit to there though. I still have my volunteer card for them though.
