Desktop windows manager using 20% of GPU

is it normal for the desktop windows manager on windows 10 to be taking 20% of the GPU capacity?

(system is a i5 6600k with gtx 1060 3gb and 16 gb of ram)

I have a similar problem on my old laptop with w-8. Only when it sleeps or hibernates tho.

No, this is not normal. I don’t know what you should do, but figured I’d chime in with my oppinion. I run win 10 and Linux. And BOTH never go above 6 percent on my machine in both operating systems.

Well ? lets see… unexplained resource usage would mean time to

  1. Scan for malware/virus

  2. Have a look at running processes closely

  3. Clean the crap out of your startup :slight_smile:

  4. Audit installed software

  5. Goto settings and lockdown all added features from MS
