Dell Vostro 7580 Dual Boot Linux not working anymore

Hi,

I posted the following question on the Dell Forum a week ago, but nobody has replied since. Hopefully someone here can help me.

WANTED SETUP:

* NVME: Win10
* SATA: Linux (Ubuntu or Fedora)

I own a Vostro 7580 since December of 2018. Right after the purchase,
I swapped the internal 2.5" HDD with an SSD and installed Ubuntu 18.04
on it. Everything worked perfectly, I was able to dual boot with Windows
on the NVME drive. I remember that I had to change something with the Secure
Boot settings in the BIOS, but I can’t exactly remember which setting it was.

After a BIOS update thru Ubuntu, Linux did not boot anymore,
also Linux USB sticks had problems booting. I played with the BIOS boot options,
until I was able to reinstall Linux to a 2nd SATA drive (The previously working Ubuntu SSD still exists).
There I noticed that for the first time, I was able to see the NVME drive under Linux &
select it as a the root drive during install. The drive was completely invisible to Linux prior
to all the problems.

Unfortunately after that fresh install, Windows always booted into “repair” mode. After
playing around with the BIOS again, Windows booted up again but no Linux drives showed
up in the boot manager at all (SATA & USB).

I’m completely lost at this point. What am I doing wrong? It used to work perfectly.

Thanks in advance,
