hey guys I got given an old Dell inspiron 537, and instead of chucking it out, I thought I’d slap in a fresh copy of Linux Mint, and turn this into a retro rocket for 2000-2008 ish games, what with steam getting cozy with linux. Problem is, the system is pretty sluggish in daily use, in games it does fairly well, it just takes it’s sweet time opening them, and so, I want a faster CPU. It’s got installed a 6600 core2duo (I think) I am sure it’s a dual core chip, I just forgot the number, anyways, with only a 300 watt PSU, I’m pretty confident the board can’t run a core 2 quad, but it’d be awesome if it could! I have been looking online for a couple of days now on my own, not finding anything of real help. I found some user manuals, but it’s Dell, so it’s all pictographs and how to take things off. 
So I thought I’d ask a bunch of fellow nerds, maybe one of you guys can help!
