Hello my friends out in TEK Land.
after several months limping along on my backup laptop after an unfortunate incident with a can of cola hiding in the bottom of my backpack. I am ready I think to shell out for a new one.
I think that I have settled on the Dell Inspiron M531R
I had a few requirements of my own that I wanted in a new laptop
I did not what Intel graphics
I wanted a 15" display
I will be adding a SSD (replacing HDD)
8gb DDR3
usb 3.0
I need to be able to get an extended battery ( confirmed that i can for this laptop) This was very important
ODD would be nice but not a must
have to be able to get it from Best Buy ( I have reward zone points to spend)
I would like to be able to do some lite gaming on the laptop Sim City, Towns, Tropico 5, and Sims 4 for now I'm sure other games will be played later. I realize this PC might have a hard time with a game like skyrim but I have a desktop for that Mostly this unit will be used for work and travel.
I'm fairly sure this laptop fits bill it has an AMD A8-5545M
8GB Dual Channel DDR3 1600MHz expandable to 16 gb
AMD Radeon HD 8510G (integrated)
I always like to run this stuff past you guys Mobility gear isn't my strongest suit and lots of times you guys catch little things that I don't and or know something about a particular model of PC like an annoying bug ect.
