Decent thin speakers?

Just wondering if anybody knows of any decent speakers that are fairly thin. The space I'd like to put them in is about 60mm by 180mm (2 3/8in by 7in). I'm not looking for anything that will blow my socks off and melt my ear drums, but I would like them to be half decent sounding for classical and/or some lighter hip hop.

not saying they don't exist, but the problem you will run into is every speaker save for cheap headphones has been tuned to a frequency. That is achieved by the box the speaker is in. You could always build your own box with no tuning, but that can cause problems.   another option is a sound bar on the wall. but most regular pc speakers are more than 2" deep. could you please provide EXACT detail on height x depth x width in that order to more clearly help?

I looked at the space again and I could go with two speakers/boxes that are 60mm x 180 mm x 100 mm (H x W x D)

Two that are 100 mm x 300 mm x 200 mm (H x W x D) if they can support the weight of one monitor each.

Both options are roughly +/- 5 mm on each dimension.

I'm trying to figure out if I can get something to fit between my desk and the bottom of my screen or something that I can put a monitor, stand and all, on top of.

246.38 x 187.96  x 284.48   If you lay this on its side, you may be able to put the monitor on top  you can also buy stands for either side of your desk, saving space

self standing stands

If only those were about half as wide :(

So, anybody have any experience with the Creative Gigaworks T40? They look like they should fit under the edges of my screen decently.

They will work better than regular Altec Lansings. That is about it. You wont get any smaller unless you get a mini sound bar or decide to screw 2' speakers to a piece or plexi.
