Hey, after 3 long years my PC build is complete, thing is, i’m getting some minor stuttering in games sometimes when i get into a new area or turn the camera quickly, i would guess it’s a VRAM issue, but i don’t think it is since i’m playing 1080p on a 5700XT. The stutter itself isn’t serious and doesn’t bother me, but from a computer science perspective i’d like to be able to debug these issues on a technical level, instead of just taking educated guesses. How would you guys go about debugging these types of issues?
Also as a side question, should i have installed any drivers? I went from an rx 580 to a 5700XT but everything seems to work just fine, so i didn’t bother.
For debugging purposes it doesn’t really make much of a difference i think. Most games i play don’t have any stuttering issues.
But i’ve found problems on:
Civilization VI (solid 15~40 FPS on benchmark regardless of settings)
Witcher 3 (specially when i turn the camera abruptly)
Star citizen (nearly unplayable at times)
XCOM 2 (rare stuttering)
Path of exile
Monster Hunter: World (extremely rare, but it happens sometimes)
Prey
