this drive contains PopOs 24 i am now trying out Zorin on a replacement SSD with the old dying samsung in a usb-c drive enclosure.
im sure there is more information i need to provide. also i can try to boot off the dying samsung but, it gets stuck at initramfs command line, i got it to boot back in once before after reinstalling in to the laptop. that would be ideal as i have lots of open firefox tabs i want, not just files.
are you sure it is the drive and not the enclosure / cabling?

if i install the drive in to my laptop it only boots if apply pressure to the PCB and the PCB is curved when removed, and it’s done this before since it’s such a thin pcb. iv’e since gone for a thicker pcb non performance drive. the enclosure sandwiches the drive i can even boot off the drive in the enclosure over the usb-c but again it gets stuck at initramfs
Okay I’m stuck here, I’m not sure how to run the check disk on the output from blkid, no way mapper/crypt data is a valid path for fsck
