Ill give it a shot. Machine is at work though and I dont know if I want to spend my weekend remoted into my work machine.
I was able to get testdisk to atleast try and read it but it said something along the lines of “heres all the partitions we cant recover, and the one we can recover is fat12” so that was a no go.

Photorec seems to be doing its thing. though, I’m getting a lot of duplicates. Any ideas as to how to automate identification and deletion? I am sorting by size and hand deleting them but it could take a lot of time.
dont think photorec has that option
kinda just dumps all files onto you
Yeah I was thinking some kind of script to check if a file has the same filesize and just delete one.
you might be able to use file to see what type of file something is
I can choose which filetypes to save, theres just a metric assload of pictures to go through. I may just end up giving them all to the guy and telling him to have fun.
