I’m having this and I will try it out later on today or tomorrow.
Anyone played through it? Is there some serious differences other than graphics?
Oh niiiice I thought it was just coming out for the Switch.
Looks like it’s not capped at console frames anymore.
Nothing has changed according to a lot of the reviews (positive and negative).
This was the first game I ever learned everything from item descriptions.
Your world is a lie. The Gods, deceitful. Your allies, your enemy.
As to not salt those that have not experienced it before...(Possible Spoilers)
The world has been cast in a beautiful illusion. While you initially see a broken, abandoned land, it is still a veil used to entice you. The reality is much darker, much more bleak…
A tool of the Gods, their eternal war entering its darkest hour, you must make a decision to sacrifice all that you believed in, or give into the hate, embrace the darkness, release the Abyss, and extinguish the flame… Possibly forever.
While you shall meet many of former glory and future fame, there are those that seek to betray you. Their smiles will give you confidence, but their blade will bring you a death you cannot escape, pushing you gently toward an ever closer Hollowing…
A leaf, feather falling gently from the wake of Autumn, rotting from the inside, yet so vibrant on the outside. You will fight, you will die. You will seek retribution for those that have fallen before you, and you will provide guidance for those that come after you.
Remember, Soulsborne, this is your destiny. Be ye cursed, or hollow, or unkindled, you will arrive at the gates of Anor Londo, and you will not remember what brought you there
Did you not get his “bad ending”?
I felt physically ill when it happened the first time. He finally found his sun… Ugh. Still brings a dark mood.
I felt so bad… When Sigmeier dies in lost izalith I didn’t felt that bad. On the ash lake I didn’t felt that bad. Solaire, man… His speech during the “bad ending”. He really feels happy. Finally, he found his sun. And then… Yeah…
Oh fuuuu Sigmeier. Damn man, maybe I shouldn’t have bought this
I thought him dying in Lost Izalith was his bad ending. I saved him one play through on accident. OMG.
Press ‘F’ moment.
Bonfireside Chat had a really, really heart wrenching breakdown of this story arc. It’s what we all know, he’s a ‘loser’ in the DS world. But the way they play the clips and narrate, it gets me every time.
Only Solaire have happy ending, and not in the way you think…
Oh Lautrec, thou’st art a heartless swine.
Debating killing him now, tbh.
I wonder if I can finally kill the “Goat demon living in the basement” honorably? I was never able to beat Capra in the beginning. That small area with the dogs screws me over so hard.
Really? I beat it on my second try… Move to the side he swing from, not towards, then just plunge attacks from the top of the staircase.
The largest issue is getting rid of the dogs…
I use him and Solaire in the gargoyle fight and then I just kick him off the ledge.
I’ll give your suggestion a shot. I was able to take them down in the Demon Ruins, but I am always super decked by that point.
Maybe after years of practice and the agility training received in Yharnam I’ll be ready for the dags
And f***ing Petrus, should kill him now too.
HOW DO YOU DO SPOILER TAGS? Really don’t want to ruin too much for first timers.
HOW ARE WE THE ONLY ONES TALKING ABOUT THIS BEAUTIFUL GAME?
It’s kinda like the cake is a lie thing…
People are tired of Dark Souls, but I am fascinated by it. In general it have great level design, it’s battle system is great, the balance, that makes it difficult is basically gone in the rest of the games, but this one is quite tight. And all the tricks they used to make the game run on the old 360 - I mean it had only 256 megs ram if I remember correctly. It’s a genius game.
Yeah, I think I’m the same.
My wife is already fuming, with my stream of profanities and white knuckling this evening. I shall post my updates in a few hours, if I’m not forced off to bed
Lol at this vile thread. Damn you for stealing my evening!
Made it to the top of Sen’s Fortress last night. Just need to defeat the Iron Golem and I’ll be off to the greatest kingdom and the 2nd hardest boss fight in the game…
I will say, camera angles in Blighttown still suck.
But, muh precious master key
Damn, you’re fast… I play slooooowly. Turtleing massively. I’m not as good with the Dodge button, so I try to shield and tank most of the damage.
Is there a change in the balance of the game? I mean I like to start deprived and fight the gargoyles half naked with what I scraped from the corpses so far… If they messed with the balance of the game I may have to just start warrior for this 100% shield and average roll.
Nah, I do a few sprints to certain areas early on for gear. Outside Catacombs has good stuff, I got the Drake Sword, and an armor set.
I can make it to the Taurus Demon in 30 minutes or so, Gargoyles in another hour or two, depending on how much the dancing mage asshole gives me trouble. So in 2 - 2.5 hours I’ve rang the first bell. Then, I sprint to Blighttown, using the Master Key in the Valley of the Drakes.
Toxic. Toxic. Toxic. You died x 2,384
“Oh my F***ING CHRIST”
“MOTHER F***ING JESUS F***!!!”
x 10,000
Somehow I survive the Mildred invasion, light the bonfire, sprint through the bone mountains, and kill Quelaag lol
Rang second bell. Gates to Sen’s Fortress open. Take the elevator. Sprint… Snakes… I f***ing hate snakes. Turtle through Sen’s Fortress. Realize snakes ain’t shit, attain godhood, release Wizard in prison, mock snake men, fall in pits and traps and spiked elevators a few times, find hidden bonfire, destroy Golem, carried off to holy land… Embrace my destiny.
Bring.
It.
On.
I think the first time I did this I needed like 50 humanity lmao.
Hopefully now the 23 I have will suffice.
I haven’t even played through the “original” yet…
BOO…
Nah, it’s OK. It’s an option in the game. Love me the halberd though. Dat reach.
And you skip my most favorite boss of every game ever made ever, the incomplete open heart surgery dragon?
How dare you…
If people tell you “it’s tough, but fair”, that’s because it absolutely is. A sword will deal 100 damage no matter if you use it or an enemy use it on you.
Every item in the game can be used by both you and the enemies… After every boss fight the enemies get a little tougher, but that’s alright, because you level up constantly as well. So there’s that.
The game is brilliant, but really, prepare to die. A lot.
Lol eventually I’ll go lightning spear or axe.
Nah, I go back. Just scurred in the beginning
I will keep spoilers to a minimum, then!
We are on the Internet. The game is beyond spoiled at this point.
