Hi, I’m building my first pc and really need your help. I was playing on i7 7700 for 4 years without gpu. One year ago i bought 4060, and now want to build a new pc for 1080p, but want to upgrade to 2k in nearby 6 months. I am thinking about keeping 4060 but am not sure about cpu. I have in mind ryzen 5 7600x and 5 7600x3d. Also my friend recommend me Ryzen 8700G. For gpu upgrade im thinking about rtx 4070 super or rx 7900 gre. So the question is: what do you think about 5 7600x/7600x3d/7 8700G or recommend me other cpus. waiting for your help, thank you.
budget is <1500 euro
country - Germany
build I have in mind: Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 7600X, GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER, Montech AIR 903 MAX ATX Mid Tower - PCPartPicker
Safe the money for next gen graphics cards. Fully see the new power of your cpu and motherboard. Then you can experience that. And then the videocard upgrade will be again a point of you having a lot of fun upgrading your video card. You can also think about skiping one more generation and go for a 6080 or 6090.
If you take this path you have some more wigle room to get a more powerfull cpu, more ram. And a motherboard with more functionality
I get if you look at benchmarks
its about twice the peformance. But your so close at the point the 50 generation is coming. I think it’s worth the wait. And the performance is stil at a level that you can play everything.
But my idea is if you do a upgrade of your base system now you can build that to perfection. The 4060 wil be sufficient. And when the new generation lands. You have also more room to look around at those graphic gards. Then you might go for the 5080. And then the performance gains wil be even more crazy.
I do have to say that i do really like the 4070super

when i got this cpu i was stil on Nvidia 970
If you are geting the new videocard because you are going to sell the old system. Maybe look for a decent priced pci gen3 videocard somthing like a 2080 on ebay and sell it with that in it
For 1080/60 I don’t think you actually need upgrades… Going to higher resolution won’t actually need more CPU, either, unless you upgrade GPU.
that gpu is 8 lanes pcie expres 4, not ideal for a pci expres 3 system
