Ok so I am starting to save up for my I7 build and I either want the Coolermaster Cosmos S or Cosmos 1000 (with a window), from the looks of things they are the same apart from the hard drive cages and the 200mm fan on the side. I love the overall look of the Cosmos S but dont like the hard drive bay, I also like the look of the Cosmos 1000, and like the hard drive bays more than the Cosmos S. So if you had to choose which one would u go for and why?
Cosmos 1000 with the window. If you save up for a LCS, you won't need such a disgustingly large fan that isn't going to allow you to look at your marvelous interior.
I am not going liquid, I am going air but I think I will go with the 1000
No, Go with Comso S. It looks alot better. save up like 40 bucks you can buy the replacement side panel with window for comso s for that much. alot better off taht way
In the UK the price of a Cosmos 1000 with a window is the same price as a Cosmos S without
Oh well, if you're going air, you might as well go with the S. You'll need that powerful fan for good airflow.
Well the Comsos S is a better case than the 1000. with like 40$ USD extra you can get the Cosmos S with window

I actually just bought the cosmos s. Â The cosmos s is designed a little bit better than the cosmos 1000 (ie. it has more room behind the motherboard tray to route cable, etc.). Â I am not using the big side panel fan simply because it wouldn't fit with my domino cpu cooler. Â I'm pretty sure that the cosmos s is lighter than the cosmos 1000 too. Â Plus, the cosmos s has teh touch sensitive power button whereas the 1000 doesn't. Â If it were my money i was spending, i'd go with the cosmos s. Â
i must say i myself am most probably getting the cosmos S for my soon to come core i7 build, and am most probably also buying the window sidepaneli must say that the cosmos s is a definite must
Cosmos S FTW. imho It's the best fulltower case you can buy :] (even if on a budget) It's aluminum, had good airflow (only the Antec 1200 can beat it) lots of room and cable management options, room enough for water cooling components (360 rad etc).. not to mention the awesome looking and handy Handlebars (lol) touch-sensitive power button.. black and gun-metal grey automotive style paint.. You seriously could not comprehend the awesomeness of this case IRL..
and YES I own one :].
P.S. You could save yourself some money, and make a DIY window mod for the cosmos S, instead of buying a windowed panel.
the side panel has a grille and dust filter (with the 200mm fan attached), you can just remove that by removing a few screws and it pops out, easy as whoop. put in a plexi window, and you're done.
P.P.S. lol, there's a tutorial on how to do the window mod: http://forums.overclockers.com.au/showthread.php?t=741044
depends on your budget. I'd go for the S.
Thanks for that link but the Cosmos 1000 with a window is cheaper and its kinda the same features, apart from the 200mm fan on the side, i could add a few fans on the front for intake and if I was putting a window on the cosmos s then teh 200mm fan would be going anyway. I have not got all the money together yet, I will re-think it when I have the money, hey a better case might come out by then. The second raven case looks awesome...
yeah, you're right. After all, it comes down to your budget and personal preference.
Het guys I am re-opening this thread becasue I have just seen this case on a UK computer shop, and I am gonna get it when its released   http://overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-181-CM  Will a side pannel with window installed for the Cosmos S work with this as the outside of that side window is black to match the overall black theme/look of the case?
the cosmos 1000 is a nice case, but it has two disadvantages. less airflow than most cases (like the Cosmos S) and the fact that it's a steel fulltower case. that makes it Realy heavy, more so with all the hardware installed. The cosmos S (wich is from alluminum) is about 13 KG, feels like 20 with hardware installed, lol.
I think theres a specially design window for that. Its on coolermasters site. but even if u did get the cosmos S window to fit, the colors wont match. different shades of black.
yeah good point I will look at there website but it might only be available in the USA
I couldnt find anything on there website but I might just keep the stock side panel
