I'm wanting to connect an old IDE optical drive to a modern motherboard. I'm looking for the appropriate hardware to do so.
Motherboard: ASUS M5A97 LE R2.0
If you do a Google search for IDE to Sata you will find lots of converters out there. But honestly just get a new drive as stranded Sata CD rom's are so cheap.
