Community Giveaway: IcyDock Stuff

I have a 5.25’’ bay burning hole in my case.

You need to put some ice… yDock on it!

IcyDock 2x2.5 to 5.25"

i have a phanteks entho luxe that would love the 3*5.25 bay version and i have the cases ready to build out a home lab in a rack mounted cases

Interested in the 24Bay monster, as it would enable me to use my desktop as a NAS due to the fact its on 24/7 anyway. Might build a dedicated Nas from an old case that i haven’t thrown out yet.

Hello from Belize, I would be interested in any of the 2 really. I am currently have a 6 HDDS and 2 SSDs placed in an old time case with front panel off for air ventilation.

I use this system as a proxmox host. Here I have pfsense, pihole, docker and other self hosted service I use for my home.

Winning any of these 2 would allow me to cleanup/streamline my setup to make it more manageable. I would otherwise buy a new case and other supplies but getting things from USA is expensive for me. Normally end up paying 3 times the listed price of any product on amazon for example.

The Specs on my proxmox server

CPU: AMD Athlon 3000G
RAM: 4 sticks 8GB DDR4 3200mhz
PSU: EVGA BR 500W
Motherboard: ASUS prime b350 plus
Storeage:

  • 2TB AX2 Teamgroup SSD
  • 256 GB addlink OS Drive
  • Mixture of hitachi (2), seagate (2) and toshiba hdds (2)

it will take me a few years to fill the 24 bay monster

Would be great if the 24 bay could be split here are some pictures of an 8 bay i have in an define r6

The 24 bay addition to my proxmox server would be a perfect match to my home lab! Or anything really.

I don’t have a need for those but if you had a MB998IP-B (8x SATA via 2x Mini-SAS HD connectors) I would take it in a heartbeat! Looking to move to an all-flash NAS/home server sometime in the next year with NVMe for the fast storage and large capacity SATA SSDs for the rest.

I’d replace the optical drive in my 4U main box so I’d have hot-swap when I fix someone’s computer (I back up their data first). I still buy cds so when the end time comes I still have my music and the streamers can piss up a rope…

lose one part and its a disco cabinet.

I’ve been using IcyDock external enclosures (RIP firewire) for years, and I would rebuild my NAS to be fully-SSD with the MB924IP-B

interested in the humungous 24x 2.5" sas/sata icydock drive enclosure, to use in a proxmox setting. looking for more capacity to run various web databases locally i.e. wikileaks and anything open data related

Hi Wendell! First Day on the Forum, this finally pulled me in.
I could only use the IcyDock 2x2.5 to 5.25" for my Plex/File Server made from my older Desktop.

the case is a Phanteks Enthoo Luxe so the 5.25" bays are the only space left, would like to be able to throw a few Terabytes at my plex server which is currently full :frowning:

I would include the image, but the space is currently unreachable (It’s stored in a corner behind a desk)

Tyler here signing up for the giveaway it will go great in my OG antec 900 case with 12600 k build!!! Been on the edge about buying one for a couple months since the last icy dock video. Horray for Level One Techs!!!

Thought I already had an account here but apparently not.
Definitely interested in the 24-bay monster. Will help me make better use of the 10G connectivity the HDD’s seem to struggle a tad with.

I hope it will fit in the Silverstone RM41-H08 i have

24 x 2.5

I’d upgrade my home server to all ssd

Anything tbh. 24 inch bay i will try to make NAS with Raspberry Pi. I doubt i can afford more than 1-2 drives though :see_no_evil:.

I am interested in the 24 x 2.5", I’ve recently started using my first NAS, I’ve got a fairly open system running my NAS so it would be great to have something like that to expand my wonderful 4tb of storage. I would just be mounting it inside of a Thermaltake View 71 with the tempered glass removed in my “server room” which is a bricked off underground garage.
