This won't be cheap, they will charge you for installation and router [They do this for all plans]
The Data Cap (300 gigs for my plan no idea what the data cap will be for the 2 GIG plan) are still in place
I hate data caps because they get in the way of using cloud based technology to it's fullest potential. I don't trust Comcast. The only reason they are doing this is because Google is coming to Atlanta. Otherwise they would keep things as they are. They did say they will be bringing this service to other areas. What do you guys think about this?
Its like putting up a ten lane highway and building a concrete wall that stretches across all ten lanes at the quarter mile mark. Oh Comcast...so useless...
Where I am in Washington, it's Xfinity or crap DSL. If there was any competition at all my cable bill would be lower I'm sure ... but no such luck yet. The one good thing is that they don't have enforced data caps in my area yet - they had a 250 or 350GB meter that showed up on your account online but it was never enforced as far as I saw but then again, I think I exceeded it only once in all my years with them. Not sure if they even have / do that any more.
Won't be falling for this bullshit. Totally taking advantage of google fiber once it comes here. Been screwed over by Comcast for five years now and will never forget that. Everyone at work who lives in the areas they will be bringing Google fiber to is totally going to throw Comcast the middle finger.
This is actually in part what Google Fiber was supposed to do: get more people using the internet more, whether it is from their ISP or a competitor's they still make money. Though I'm sure they'd hope Comcast wouldn't only do it in regions in which they are entering. Funny how only a couple years ago Comcast was saying no one would even be interested in gettng 1Gb broadband.
