I’ve seen a lot of posts lately practically ordering people to disable hyperthreading on Intel, thanks to recent exploits. But the situation with AMD remains unclear to me. Should I disable SMT on my Ryzen 7?
Despite AMD not being affected as home user there is no actual threat.
According to amd white paper they released last week their implementation of SMT does not allow speculation into other processes memory.
So they are effectively immune to last weeks exploits and SMT is fine to leave on.
