I built a gaming pc last summer. Its great but it is a HUGE full atx pc with tons of heavy hard drives in it and I cant really take it anywhere. I was thinking of getting a cheap laptop to replace my Inspiron 1525 that is 5 years old and cant really play anything but half-life. I wad also thinking of a a mini itx system though. I just want to play some games away from home and not spend more than $300. I dont need to play them on high settings or anything but I just want to play them.
For $300 that can't get you alot right away but what I would do is look for AMD APU laptops and customize it to reduce the price like get the free stuff (sometimes like 2gb of ram and upgrade later). What I mean is check for cheap AMD APU laptops like on clearance , even if it has 4gb of ram it doesn't matter ; why? Well, when you get it check how much ram it can handle and buy some , then buy a ssd for example a samsung 256gb. That's pretty much what you can do if you want a decent laptop buy cheap and upgrade (keep in mind the support on the motherboard as well as the gpu on board)
There are not a lot of videos on this one. I think I want something with the A8 4500M but cant really find anything cheap. And when I do they are refurbished witch I do not like. If you have a sugestion for another laptop that might be helpful. :)
