Cant install wireless headset

I just got a ASUS hs-w1 wireless headset(I think its Bluetooth) and it wont install, tries installing wireless audio driver when I plug in the usb dongle then fails. I have Windows 8.1 x64
They dont come with driver disc, supposed to be plug and play

Please help dont Know what to do

Wow, this is the 3rd problem I asked about and no one is interested in helping. Ppl only wanna give advice on buying stuff

Don't be impatient. Its only been 4 hours and most people here are US based and not here until the later evening times.

What USB port type are you trying to plug this into? This commonly occurs when plugging in a USB2.0 device into a USB3.0 port or a poor quality USB hub.

I wouldnt have said anything if it wasnt the 3rd time I got no response and ended up solving it myself.

I tried all the usb ports in desperation, its currently in a usb 2.0, no luck. Its under device manager as wireless audio but flagged as no driver installed. I think its some win8 bluetooth issue

The identification issue maybe due to the headset not being paired with the dingle, as a result making Windows believe it is an audio device without an output connected to it.

Reference the quick start guide for how to do this.

I did

Unfortunately its as simple as plug in, turn on. Doesnt work. The headset light turns green, but the dongle blinks red, to signal its not paired I guess(manual doesnt explain in more detail than this, also there is no microphone rotation clicking sound, unless you want to brake it off xD)

Under the system services, check that the "Bluetooth support service" is running and also set it to automatically run with the machine on start up.

Unplug the device, restart the computer, once everything is up and running plug in the dingle and.... Pray.

From what I have found many people have had this problem (with no solution) whilst most have not.

If not, get in contact with Asus support and see if they have insight.

No help. So my only solution would be to install Windows 7 or maybe Windows 10 would fix this?

Well just check that it doesn't decide to install drivers if you force it from device manager.

But give it a whirl in another computer just to check that it isn't defective.

I tried that too, nope.

Could go to a friends house, but from what I've read about the Bluetooth think its working just drivers not. Fracking win8

So I installed Windows 10 preview(didnt want to format and reinstall everything to go back to Win7) and it fixed the driver, Works now.
Only problem is the sound is pretty bad, quality stuck at 32 KHz/ 16-bit radio quality but the specs say 44.1 KHz/16-bit cd quality. I dont know if this is a Bluetooth thing or a driver thing but it doesnt sound very good and I see now way to fix it.

In retrospect probably should have gone wired, but I have a big dog so I didnt want him to chew the wire when he jumps on me

Numerous people (and myself) have complained about an audio issue within the latest preview build (10240) so that maybe the culprit of the audio issues atm.

Hoping it will get fixed with full release in 2 days then. Thanx a lot for the help
