Hey guys, when I download firefox.tar into my downloads folder I space out. Im brand new to linux and have no idea what to do. Thanks for the help and sorry for the noob questions.
Which distribution are you using? Most distributions already come with Firefox installed.
lubuntu, it comes with chromium pre-installed
Open the terminal and type sudo apt-get install firefox
It wont let me type in my password, its happened with other stuff also.
You have to type it in but it wont show up in characters, it's invisible. It's a security feature of the Linux kernel to help prevent people from stealing your password if you happen to have a screen capture malware installed on the system.
