Canon Launches a 4096*2560 reference monitor

Canon has announced the DP-V3010, a 30" reference monitor with a resolution of 4096x2560 pixels. According to Canon, the UHD monitor is suitable for proffesional video-editors who work with 4K footage. The MSRP is €32.000 without taxes.

The DP-V3010 has a imageprocessor developed by Canon and offers 10 bit color depth, which gives 1024 levels of gradiation for every rgb colour. The monitor supports various colour spaces. One of which is Adobe's RGB. The monitor will support 4K video with refresh rates of 23.98p, 24p, 50p and 60p.

The IPS screen has a resolution of 4096x2560 pixels with an aspect ration of 16:10, while the native UHD resolution is 4096x2160. The contrast ratio is specified as 2000:1 and Canon promises viewing angels of 89°. The DP-V3010 will be shipped with a controller unit, which can be placed on the desktop or in a 19" rack.
As far as input goes, there a eight bnc and four displayport inputs, while there are ehternet and USB 2.0 ports too.

Canon says the 24 kg heavy 30" monitor is designed for video editing of 4K footage, the execution of colour correction and cad- and animationpurposes. Canon mentions a MSRP of €32.000 excluding taxes. The DP-V3010 will be available in Europe in Q1 of 2014.
