Can you fit the NZXT Kraken X61 to the front of the Fractal Design R4?

I'm thinking about replacing my ageing Corsair H40 (the pump is ready to kick the bucket) so I was thinking of getting something that will last me a good while and also help out when I'll look into overclocking my AMD 8320.

The main contender is currently the NZXT Kraken X61 with the Coolermaster Nepton M240 as the backup.

As I'd like not to change my case, the Fractal Design R4 I was wondering if anyone has managed to fit the radiator x 2 140mm fans at the front bay of the R4.

Ideally I don't want to do any drilling or any other form of DIY :D

Any advice on it would be appreciated! thanks in advance

Yes it basicly fits, but you will most likely lose the drive cages.

That's not an issue for me as I only got 2 HDDs and the SSDs go in the back.
I've already removed the top HDD cage as its not being used.

Are you speaking from experience? :)

No but Logan has putted a Corsair H110i in front of his Fractal design R5.
I assume that the R4 and R5 are basicly the same as it comes to spacing in the front.

I see ok. I used to have foam casings for the 2 HDDs but haven't used them in the R4 so I was going to deploy that again. I was more concerned if it would actually be mountable at the front.

Thanks for letting me know! I'll look for other people having done similar things in the R5 as well if they're so similar.

I will drop a HWLabs LS280 rad in the front of my R4 and check to confirm. I need to make sure this fits for a potential build for myself (Silicon Lottery 4790K at 4.8-4.9GHz so cooling is critical)

Nice one thanks!

Sorry it took me so long to upload this even though I took the photos like a week ago.

Here is the long story short: Will it fit? Yes. Will it mount properly as designed be NZXT or Fractal Design? No. You can use it, but you will have to remove the hard drive cages and also the top plastic cage bracket which takes a little effort because you need to be able to get a philips screwdriver into the 5.25" drive bays on top. This will require some sort of specialty screwdriver. In my case I used a 1/4" ratchet and 1/4" socket and a standard PH2 aka #2 philips bit.
