Can you connect a different brand wireless mouse and keyboard to the same 2.4ghz dongle?

I am looking to get a new wireless mouse and keyboard, i have found both a mouse and keyboard i like but they are different brands but both use 2.4ghz dongles to connect them, and i do not want to have to use 2 usb ports one for each dongle. So i was wondering if they will automatically connect to the same dongle or if there is any way to get them to connect to the same dongle.

Any help appreciated, cheers.

no, the only way that would work is if they both used something like a logitech unifying reciever, which if they're different brands they obviously don't
