Yeah. I bought 16GB Corsair Vengance ram in black. And then decided to make the color theme of my computer red.
So instead of spending money to buy the red version can i simply paint parts of the heatsink? its 1600mhz clocked ram.

sure, just be aware it will probably void your warrenty
Thanks but yes, i'm completely aware of that. i have like 12 sticks of 4GB vengeance black ram anyways. :)
Thanks. I didnt even think about this.
Is that white on the heatspreader thermal paste? or what is it? anything importent? i dont feel like i should remove it before i know
It is thermal pads..
And the tears of a thousand chinese slave workers :'(. Just joking :}
so is it safe to remove the heatspreader then yes? simply just stick it back together when finished?
Well, if you're careful. We had a set of ram I tried to take the heatsink off of, and it ripped off a memory module. It was an older stick, though. So when I painted my new ones, I just used tape to cover the exposed areas.. Shoved toilet paper into the holes ans whatnot. Worked out perfect.
Well i suppose that will be just as easy. thanks
