Call me gay but.. (Trivium)

Anyone actually kind of want to hear new material from them? I'm actually looking forward to hear new material from them since they have a grindcore drummer now. (Also, call me gay because I do somewhat like their older music, and Shogun is also somewhat alright in my books.)

nah not gay i listen to a lot of the cores; hard, grind, math etc. pretty sweet song though like it a lot

Meh, I won't call you a gay. I just don't like Trivium... and their singer.

Meh. Sounds very dull...

I do enjoy Ascendancy a lot....I still listen to it quite often. One of my guilty pleasures ;) I didn't like their last two albums though....so I don't have any form of expectations towards this one.

Not...bad...

I was expecting worse... but that was not bad.

I Do not approve of this.

Do whatever you like, but that... was bad:D

hmm..... even if they get 100x better they will still be so low on the list that I will probably never get around to listening to them.

triviums ghey bro you obviously are svcker ov the m41nst34mz c0ck.

nah ascendancy was pretty good, this videos alright but its definetely nothing special... very overdone thrashy/metalcore/melodic death metal stuff, its nothing innovative.

Fuck innovative music. It's not even real.

BUT

The vocals of this could easily be compared to a chainsaw being put into my ear. Not gewt.

Didn't find anything too spectacular about it. Wasn't terrible, but didn't really grab my attention. It's a 2.5/5

^ I disagree if there was no innovation to music we'd all still be listing to random banging on skin hide drums.

I personally don't think it was that bad. Very overly polished metal though lost that raw aspect.

Metal isn't innovative anymore. Using the same instruments the Beatles did, with different techniques.

EDIT

And I consider that drum thing to be more innovation in materials technology, and acoustics, rather than innovation in Music, and Music theory. Africans used poly rhythms just like we do today, but they used those skin drums.

i didn't like they're latest albums but i like this song from shogun album

Innovation is a different technique of the same thing pretty much. Using something completely different is an invention not an innovation.

There is some amazing mathcore, progressive, tech that shows amazing skill.

The fact that things like that can be produced with primary the same instruments is innovation in my eyes.

So the only innovative music is Tech Death?

If it's all about technicality, then there's no point in bothering to rate melodeath bands on innovation.

That's not what I said...

When you start defining what's innovative, that's a very good sign it's not.

There's innovation in every genre of music, no need to argue about that...lol

On topic:

Probably my favorite song from Trivium..

I realize that I generalized there.

Of course it's not innovative at all, and I realize Trivium isn't the best, but like Olivier said, there's somethings about the old Trivium that I like, I don't quite know why, just enjoy the sound. They seem to be going back to more of the old Trivium sound with a little influence from how they were on Shogun. But I just wonder if they'll actually change at all with the influence from the new drummer.

Would be nice to have some blast beats and such in Triviums older work. Although, hate to say it, one of my favorite Trivium songs is from their least-favored album, The Crusade.

Personally I really like the sound of Crusade, and the topics the songs cover and such.

(Can't edit)

Here's something I found... Video with the new drummer, Incorporating some of his playing style with blast beats and such in an older Trivium song from Ember to Inferno.
