Hi everyone!
I've found a lenovo ideapad 100s for a very low price but I've discovered that there's no way to run other os (it's possible but there are a lot of problems) so I will be stuck with win10.
I'm still on win7 on my desktop even though I tried win10 for a few weeks, I hate the auto-update feature and I've seen that there are still some bugs here and there.
Would you still buy this notebook?
My experience with low end Windows 10 notebooks is that they are pretty dire. Real slow to the point of frustration. What they are capable of is so limited by the underpowered hardware you will be left just using Windows app ecosystem rather than any of the proper win32 software. It will run win32 but it will be so slow.
So if you need cheap, why not have a good user experience? Go for a Chromebook, I have the ASUS Flip 4Gb. It runs ChromeOS as you might imagine but it also runs Android apps. With Crouton I have Linux installed so that's the best of all worlds. Great user experience with Chrome stuff, the addition of all of those Android app. Plus I can get my nerd on with proper Linux stuff too. Recently someone got Windows win32 running on a Chromebook using wine! You can have all the things :)
It doesn't hurt that the Flip is real sleek looking with all metal construction, oooh shiny brushed Aluminum, so cool, so sleek and under £200!
Where I live chromebooks are pretty expensive, the only one I could get for a decent price is the acer 720...
Can all chromebook run all android apps?
Not at the moment, for right now there are only a few that can as the test this new feature out. If you can spring for the touch screen model I would imagine Android compatibility is more likely. When selecting a Chromebook to go for the single most important feature is 4GB of system RAM. The default 2Gb can cramp the user experience. Even without Android support a Chromebook is more than capable of doing 90% of what anyone might want from a notebook computer. With the addition of Crouton Linux support you can get that missing 10% and more.
