Hyper 212 Evo may be replaced with an Antec Kuhler H20 620. I'm choosing Windows 8 because it is cheaper. if possible, i would like to reduce cost without sacrificing much performance. Suggestion would be much appreciated.
Hi there, I like your build, but there are some points to consider: 1) For gaming I recommend going for Windows 7 Pro. If you like windows 8, it will do the job too. 2) there is no need to go all CM for the rest of the build, the 212 is great and the 912 is good for a first build, but you can grab a corsair/seasonic/antec/other nice branded PSU too. 3) I would prefer you save a little more and grab some nice 24" monitor, it is worth it, I am stuck with my 20" monitor now and I can't do anything.
Which model? Remember you want to have a nice 80plus (bronce/ silver/ gold/ etc) Active PFC, nice strong single 12v rail :) As you are on a budget rig I won't recommend a modular psu, but if you found one on rebate go for it! CoolerMaster GX 650w 80 Plus Bronce is a good Psu! I was just saying that you don't have to settle with it if there are some options for the same price out there.
I don't know much about that specific PSU, I only know it is from the Thermaltake value series while the GX is not a value psu, it is part of the CM gaming power supplies, I believe any of this will be fine for your system requirements.
if i go for a CM GX 750w, it would still be cheaper than a corsair TX 750 for about 20 dollars, should i get a CM then? also, if i go down to a 660ti, will that have too much perf drop? i want this to last up to 3 or even 4 years. well atleast the gpu stays for my next build.
I would keep the GTX 670 on the list. It performs better than the 660ti, and as you know on a gaming rig the GPU is the most important thing, so no regrets there ;).
go for the CM then, as long as you don't expect adding a lot fo fans, more HDD or changing the CPU/GPU 650w will be ok for the build and even for adding a nice SSD when you have the money.
