I'm completely at my wits end, I've been trying to solve this problem for months now, replacing parts, taking it apart, putting it together again. Nothing will work.
Basically my monitor is just saying no connection, it knows there's something connected but there's nothing coming to it.
I've tried 2 different cables, both of which work on my old pc. Tried it on a completely different screen. Ice replaced all of the parts except for the psu and case. I've tried it with just the on board graphics and nothing works.
I've sent it into a computer shop, they said that either the motherboard or cpu weren't working so I replaced them. I've tried several online chats and forums and they've not a clue.
Can you please help me, all I want to do is play fallout 4 ;(
Your CPU doesn't have integrated graphics. APUs have graphics on the chip, not CPUs. Neither does your board, because it's expecting an APU or a graphics card. You'll need to buy a video card or an APU. I recommend a graphics card, so you're not stuck replacing a processor when you want to upgrade or experience component failure, but I don't know if it's in your budget. Whoever you took it too didn't do their research. Took me 10 minutes, less if I noticed sooner.
And please don't double post, it's really annoying. You could've easily edited your post for the specs.
@CyklonDX @connor609 Yeah, repair techs are basically mechanics for computers. There are a lot of shady repair businesses out there that work with consumers. You have to find one you can trust. Honestly, I hope you don't ever have to go to a business. The tech community is so big though that not many actually take their machines to a business to fix, except for the worst of problems (data recovery). They just look up the answers themselves or go to their community for help.
Always consult your community before going to a pro. Someone can probably help you. Most businesses are motivated by the quick buck. This is why it's hard to have a consumer repair business. The allure of easy profit gets in the way of honest, not-as-profitable service.
Good grief, how did they not see that when you took it to them. Yep I only joined this site a few months ago but everyone here is very helpful. Just come here before parting with any money for idiots on the high street again. Hope you get it all sorted with a good GPU bargain.
Was it geek squad? I remember them being on the news once and not being able to figure out that a HDD was simply unplugged and tried telling the customer that it was a faulty board....."right this way please, we have a HUGE selection"
