http://pcpartpicker.com/p/vDBt And was wondering if I could have some feedback. I added the extra MoBo cause I can afford it, and wonder if it would be worth it to get it over the other. Also have the memory already so it's not added to the list. Any imput is welcome as this is a big investment.
for the same price you can get a 7970, which completely destroys the 670 in performance
I made some changes: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/weos
Let me know what you think. I personally think it comes out to an overall better build.
Also, how much ram are you planning on using? the only reason I ask is because Windows Home only supports 16GB. If you have more or want to upgrade to more in the future, I would suggest getting a Professional version instead.

I think this is the best way to go the 7970 would be fine too but the perfomace is similar anyway
bad link
Thanks for the heads up on the 7970's, and the OS as well. I noticed the changes on the SSD and PSU, reasons behind that? Also and imput on which MoBo i should settle on?
Yeah, no problem. The 7970 should perform more like a GTX 680, especially with the new drivers that are out now. Not to mention that you can overclock them like crazy to boost their performance even more.
I changed the SSD, because the Crucial M4 and Samsung 830 both perform about the same, and the new Samsung 840 should be slightly better or around the same performance. I wanted to see if I could get an SSD for around the same performance and reliability while still saving some money, so I could upgrade your cooler to give you more overclocking headroom.
The NZXT Havik 140 is a much, much better cooler than the CM 212 Evo. It performs only a few degrees warmer than a Noctua NH-D14.
The reason I switched out the PSU is because NZXT is one of the most trusted PSU brands now. The Hale 90 is also 80+ gold certified and is fully modular. It also has a single 12 volt rail which is always nicer than having multiple rails.
As far as the motherboards go, both are great boards. If you have the extra money to spend on the Maximus V Extreme, though, then go for that. It's probably the most elite board on the market for 1155. If you did want to save some money, you could always go for the Maximus V Formula. It's basically the same board, but it's missing a couple of features that you probably won't end up using anyway.
And don't get me wrong. Rosewill is a decent company, and Gigabuster will go on and on about their PSUs all day, but if you have the money, you should really be getting a better quality PSU from NZXT, Seasonic, Corsair, Silverstone, Enermax, Cooler Master, or XFX.
Very Informative! Thanks for your imput, about the 7970, is that the best brand you would recommend? or would you rather have a different one than the xfx?
I would personally rather have an MSI Power Edition or Lightning Edition, but those are going to cost you extra. XFX is still a really nice brand, and they give you a lifetime warranty. Not to mention that they give you dual fans, so it's still better than the reference cooler.
Corsair, XFX and others are Rebranded Seasonic
Rosewill is rebranded superflower which is one of the best PSU companies, and just as good as seasonic
huh...never heard of superflower before.
I was wondering, does the fact that it does not have a hdmi port make a converter ruin the quality of picture as my monitor only has hdmi input
What do you mean? The video card does have an HDMI port.
According to Newegg the lightning version does not
