I was aiming for a budget of around $1000. Any suggestions on where I can shave off a couple bucks. Preferably, I'd like to keep the NZXT case and I might be able to snag Windows for free or cheaper in the future. I'm using this mostly for gaming and a little bit of CAD/Rendering.

Looks good. If you don't like loud fans. Might change the H55 to the H60. H55 can get loud as hell.
A watercooling solution of that size won't give you better cooling or less noise, so I'd rather go with a decent Air Cooler. For the 4690K, I would suggest a mobo with better power delivery as well.

That motherboard looks like the typical 4 phases for the CPU. Not sure if that's a real upgrade or not.
My bad. There is s Z97MX Gaming 5 with 4 phases and a Z97X Gaming 5 with 8 phases. That's the one I wanted to suggest.
