Hello all,
Its that time in my life again where its time to build a new rig.
Budget: 1000 to 1200
I mostly game and I am an amatuer programmer.
I have never overclocked or liquid cooled a rig but I am not opposed to learning.
I live in the US.
This will be the second rig I have build.
Any thoughts or guidance will be much appreciated.
i made 2 options
intel: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/1x3PG
Amd: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/1x3SY
Both builds are very sollid in my opinnion, its up to you if you prefer intel or amd. The amd is cheaper. and still a very sollid cpu for gaming. so thats upto you. the intel i7 is a litle bit better performing cpu, but the diffrences aren´t big.
about the GPU, i choosed for the msi Radeon 7950, this is a very sollid and card for a realy good price, wenn overclock this card it realy performs allmost identical then a 7970 ghz edition, and at 1440p it even beats a OC'd GTX770, in manny games.
Grtz Angel ☺

Thanks for the replies. I put this together on parts picker before I recieved your replies:

thats also not a bad build. but about programming stuuf i dont know how cpu heavy you do this kind of stuff maybe more cores can come handy with it, thats why i choosed fot the intel i7 or the AMD 8 core. But ofc the i5-4670K is also not a bad cpu for just gaming... about the mobo, in my opinion the msi Mpower boards are nicer, they also have bluetooth and wifi onboard if im right, but the asus Hero is also cool.
Awesome you rock. Seriously thank you for taking the time to help me out. What do you think about the 760. Also, is getting 2 GPUs and SLIing worth the money?
well a GTX760 is a good budget card, the only problem in my opinnion is its price point, its cost the same as the Radeon 7950, but a 7950 is a better card. if you plan to Sli- 2 GTX 760´s ive heard good things about that, im personaly not a big fan of dual gpu setups.but thats maybe because i dont have much experiance with it.. but maybe you have to look at the price point, how a GTX760 sli performs to a single GTX780, ofc if you buy one 760 now and, trow in a second one, later, and it performs realy close to a titan yeah then its worth it. i think you have to look at some benchmarks at that point. same counts for a CF 7950´s both sli/cf will cost arround $520 or so, thats still cheaper then a single GTX780..
There are probably more tech people overhere who can tell you alot more of Sli/CF vs single setups.
Thanks again, I guess the only reason I was looking to SLI was I don't know anything about overclocking. However, that is why we are here ... to learn!!! So Ill probably go with the 7950 and if i dont like it I can always switch later. The only think ill probably change is to get a full size tower. For some odd reason for which I dont even know why. I aways seem to get giant cases.
